National Poetry Month 30 in 30 Challenge: Day 7

Reflecting Nubia

Her locks were in a simple ponytail
Skin chocolate like mine
Except, she was bold where I feared
And craved acceptance
Fierce piercing style typical from any descriptor
She waited patiently for assistance
Observing those who were impatient
Not giving in to anything but her breath
Standing in her elegance
She left ignorance where he stood.
