How to Conduct a Visioning Meditation in Your Home or Spiritual Space

This article is intended for visioning by yourself in your home or other space.

Situation

You want to “do visioning,” as many have said to me. What is visioning? The short answer, a meditation to ask for Spirit’s guidance for your life, or whatever else you want guidance on. You can vision for your job, home, relationship, or anything else!

Time Needed

You probably want to give yourself about an hour to be very comfortable and complete. However, if you are new to meditation or short on time, feel free to adapt as you need to.

Materials

  • candle
  • journal and writing utensil, or electronic journal
  • meditation music
  • sage or incense

A Few Notes

  • Spirit and other names for God
    • You can use what ever name for the Higher Being[s] that you recognize. I chose Spirit because that is that name that I use most.
  • On journaling throughout or waiting until the end
    • You can wait until then end to journal everything that came to you, so that you stay in that meditative space for the whole time, or you can journal throughout. The choice is yours.
  • On observing versus interpreting
    • Observing your thoughts means to take note of them, to see them and to view them. To interpret what comes in visioning means you are placing your ego upon the vision.
  • Visioning versus Visualization
    • Visioning is asking Spirit to show you the highest vision for your life.
    • Visualization is a creative meditation in which you create a picture in your mind of the manifestation of your vision.
  • Treat then move your feet!
    • Once you receive the vision, it is up to you to act upon it!

Before

Setting the Scene

  • You may want to sit in a meditation chair, on a rug, or in a chair with a back. As long as you are comfortable.
  • Before starting, make sure the room is clean, warm, and well-ventilated, if possible.
  • Smudge or otherwise clear the energy in the room.
  • Light a candle or otherwise create an appropriately lit environment.
  • Turn off your phone and other electronic devices.
  • Turn on meditation, Reiki, or other mood music. Mantras are good, but be careful not to use music with too many words.
  • Set an intention in your mind to be open and receptive.

During

  • Sit comfortably.
  • Begin by taking at least 3 deep, cleansing breaths.
  • Open with a prayer for openness, receptivity, and perfect sight.

You could use the following prayer, if you like:

Spirit is omnipotent, omnipresent, perfection. Spirit has perfect sight, and is open to that perfect sight because that sight is of the divine life. Spirit is the great creator and sees it’s creation perfectly, because Spirit is perfect.

I am the divine manifestation of that perfect Spirit. I have perfect sight. I am open completely and perfectly. I joyfully exist as the perfect life divine, because I see my life and know my life as Spirit’s life. My eyes are open and I see perfectly.

It is with this knowing, of my divine perfect sight of my life, that I declare this visioning to be perfect, now. I see perfectly, my heart and mind are open. Open to divine possibilities greater that I have ever imagined. I am open to my greatness. Open to being who I was born to be. I see that life, here and now.

I am grateful for this vision. I am grateful for perfect sight, for the opportunity to be greater and more in myself. Thankful for this time to be with Spirit, and to walk further into my Godness.

I release this prayer, as I delve deep into meditation, and I let myself go into Perfect Sight. Amen. Ashe. And So It Is.

  • Stay in the space of prayer and and meditation as long as you need to.
  • When you feel you are ready, ask the first question:
  • What is Spirit’s highest vision for my life?
  • Sit with this question. Observe the images, sounds, smells, and insights that come to mind. Do not try to interpret them; just observe them.
  • After about 3 minutes, ask the question again:
  • What is Spirit’s highest vision for my life?
  • Again, sit with this question. Observe the images, sounds, smells, and insights that come to mind. Do not try to interpret them; just observe them.
  • Now, after about another 3 minutes, or until you feel complete, ask the next question:
  • Who do I need to become to manifest Spirit’s highest vision for my life?
  • Breathe deeply, and let the images, sounds, smells, and insights come to you. Do not judge or question them; do imprint them on your memory so that you can come back to the images later.
  • After about 3 minutes, ask the question again:
  • Who do I need to become to manifest Spirit’s highest vision for my life?
  • Again, sit with this question.
  • Breathe deeply, and let the images, sounds, smells, and insights come to you. Do not judge or question them; do imprint them on your memory so that you can come back to the images later.
  • Now, after about another 3 minutes, or until you feel complete, ask the next question:
  • Who or what do I need to release in order to manifest Spirit’s highest vision for my life?
  • Breathe deeply, and let the images, sounds, smells, and insights come to you. Do not judge or question them; do imprint them on your memory so that you can come back to the images later.
  • After about 3 minutes, ask the question again:
  • Who or what do I need to release in order to manifest Spirit’s highest vision for my life?
  • Now, after about another 3 minutes, or until you feel complete, ask the next question:
  • What else do I need to know in this moment?
  • Breathe deeply, and let the images, sounds, smells, and insights come to you. Do not judge or question them; do imprint them on your memory so that you can come back to the images later.
  • After about 3 minutes, ask the question again:
  • What else do I need to know in this moment?

After

  • You have been given a lot of information. If you have not, this is okay.
  • At this time, if you chose to wait until the end, you can take your time to write down, draw, or otherwise record what came to you during the meditation. Do not struggle to remember, breathe, close your eyes if you need to, and allow the images to come to you.
  • Say a prayer of thanks for the vision, and for right action.

You can use the following script if you like:

I am grateful. Grateful for what I have seen. Grateful for my open heart. Grateful for my clear sight, and for the Great Mind that has just imprinted into my mind what is mine to be, release, embrace, and manifest. I know that I can step into this vision boldly, and I choose that action now! I choose to be the vision that has come to me, made manifest.

I choose to be [insert Spirit’s highest vision for your life here].

I choose to become [insert what Spirit says you are to become here].

I choose to release [insert what Spirit says you are to release here].

I choose to know [insert what Spirit says what else you need to know here].

I give thanks for this vision, and I release it to the Law of the Divine Creative Process, so that it may be made manifest, here and now.

And so it is./Ashe/Amen
